MY ROLE: Founder, Artistic Director, Curator, Organizer, Activist

The ArtWallah Festival was launched by a collective of 12 artists from different mediums to provide a platform for national and international artist from the South Asian Diaspora. In 1999 at the first festival, over 100 visual artists, film makers, musicians, writers, performers and theater artists all came together in Los Angeles to share their work with a community that welcomed and celebrated them. It was grand success - and in a few short years the festival grew to host 300+ artists with an audience of thousands.
